EAST VILLAGE
Instead of Avenue A Sushi, try Le Miu

There’s a lot of predictable sushi in the East Village, but the chefs at Le Miu (107 Ave A between 6th and 7th Sts, 212-473-3100)—alumni from Megu and Nobu—pack the menu with creative combinations. Try the reasonably priced chef’s platter ($30), which includes uncommon treats like luscious yellowtail belly and fluke fin, or go for Osaka-style sushi: rice and lightly vinegared mackerel pressed into rectangular blocks. Keep in mind: The fish is fancy, the space is not.
